About the Role

As our Member Services and Events Coordinator, you will have responsibility for the execution of events to service existing members, monitoring and following up on member acquisition and upgrade leads, and execution of local hub committee governance. You will also work closely with the Education Lead for Sub Saharan Africa and other MSECs across the international team.

Key Responsibilities will include:

  • Advising members and potential members on pathways to membership
  • Implementing marketing campaigns within Sub Saharan Africa, sharing learnings and best practice with peers in other regions
  • Publicising and promoting the local annual events program (may include joint events with other professional bodies or local associations) to achieve targets
  • Ensuring sponsorship is appropriately activated at events, i.e. profiling of sponsors and ensuring sponsor interaction with participants
  • Responding to applicant and member enquiries within set standard operating procedures
  • Providing customised presentation materials relevant to known stakeholder needs

About You

The ideal candidate will hold the following skills and/ or experience:

  • Excellent customer service, organisational, and administrative skills
  • Experience of organising and reviewing successful events within budget
  • Ability to communicate effectively and confidently at different levels, including remotely via online meetings
  • Ability to work from home with minimal supervision
  • Strong IT skills including Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) experience working with social media, with the ability to learn new in-house systems quickly.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours to meet the organisation’s needs
