Professional Conduct Committee
The CIOB wishes to appoint further members to its Professional Conduct Committee. The deadline for submission is 30 April 2024.
About Us
CIOB is actively seeking Fellows (FCIOB) and Chartered Members (MCIOB) of the Institute to support the CIOB Disciplinary process and join the Investigation Panel or Professional Conduct Committee. These two teams are key parts of our process to review cases of alleged misconduct of our Members and recommend appropriate disciplinary action.
The role of the Investigation Panel Member will be to review evidence received from the complainant, responses from members and findings from independent investigators. They will then consider whether these allegations would amount to a breach of the Bye-Laws and Rules and Regulations of Professional Competence and Conduct.
The role of the Committee Member is similar to the above but follows on in the process and is part of the team that considers the full case information from the Investigation Panel and recommends disciplinary action if appropriate.
About You
Persons suited to this position will be a Fellow or Chartered Member of the Institute and will have the following skills and competencies:
- Strong analytical skills
- Proven ability to review evidence
- Ability to advocate exemplary ethical practice, behaviour, integrity and transparency
- Ability to make sound, independent and reasonable judgements
- Must not have been subject to disciplinary action by the Institute resulting in any sanction

Prior to joining either of these teams, full training will be provided by our Legal Assessor.
