Kunle Barker

Property expert, writer and broadcaster Kunle Barker began his construction career whilst studying for a MA at the University of Leeds. In 2004, Kunle set up Illustrious Homes, an award-winning Construction and Design Management Company specialising in delivering high-profile projects. Kunle has delivered thousands of residential refurbishments, education and sports centre refits, and countless private renovations.

Kunle's expertise has seen him co-present high-profile TV formats alongside Alan Titchmarsh, Sarah Beeny and Ranvir Singh. Kunle recently co-presented two new prime-time shows for Channel 4 alongside Nick Grimshaw and Jean Johansson.

Kunle is also the curator and presenter of Grand Design Live, working alongside Kevin McCloud, and is part of the expert lineup for Ideal Home Show with Charlie Luxton & Phil Spencer. Kunle is also the 2023 Unlock Net Zero Ambassador for Inside Housing and presents at many of their events.

Kunle writes property columns for the Architects Journal and Evening Standard. He regularly contributes to national papers and appears on Times Radio as their property expert.

Kunle founded the architectural practice Barker-Walsh and is the Masterplan Consultant for Related Argent on their £8 Billion scheme, Brent Cross Town.
