CIOB deputy chief executive recognised by 'Women of the Year'

Bridget Bartlett, deputy chief executive at the CIOB will join over 400 women from all walks of life at the Women of the Year Lunch as a ‘2016 Woman of Achievement’. Each guest is regarded as a ‘Woman of the Year’ and represents not only herself, but the millions of women who make a difference every day.

Bridget is attending in recognition  of her work as a champion for women in construction in her roles as deputy chief executive of the CIOB and as a former diversity chair of the overarching construction body - the Construction Industry Council.  

As a leading figure in UK construction Bridget campaigns for greater gender equality and diversity across the industry.  Her work with other professional bodies has resulted in numerous campaigns that celebrate the impact women make in the industry. As a former educationalist Bridget contributes to vocational education standards and policies and promotes apprenticeships and professional careers in the Construction and Built Environment sector

Bridget said: “It is a privilege to be amongst so many inspirational women at this year’s Women of the Year lunch. For more than 25 years I have worked in education and in many ways my career has been one about knocking down barriers so that people from all backgrounds can realise their potential.”

This year’s event will take place on Monday 17 October 2016 at the InterContinental London Park Lane Hotel.

Women of the Year has recognised, celebrated and inspired women of all backgrounds since 1955 and continues to shine a light on extraordinary women through an annual Lunch and Awards ceremony, Lecture and on-going foundation work.

Exceptional women will receive special awards at the Lunch for being an inspiration to others, demonstrated by their courage, selflessness and dedication.
