Reforms to the Energy Performance of Buildings regime

The Department for Energy Security and Net Zero and Ministry for Housing, Communities and Local Government is to examining potential reforms to the energy performance of buildings regime and the metrics used for calculating Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs).

The inquiry will examine a variety of different metrics that could be used to calculate EPCs including heating systems, smart readiness, energy cost, fabric performance, etc. It will also look different options for the validity period of EPCs and accessibility of EPC data, amongst other areas.

CIOB will be looking to respond to this inquiry and welcomes responses to [email protected]. Please send your comments by Friday 21 February 2025.
