DCLG Consultation on tackling unfair practices in the leaseholder market
Summary
The government’s Housing White Paper ‘Fixing our broken housing market’ published in February 2017 highlighted the government’s aim to improve consumer choice and fairness in the leasehold sector.
The government has since published a consultation, accessible below, to look at tackling unfair and unreasonable abuses of leasehold; in particular the sale of new leasehold houses and onerous ground rents.
