Summary

Join us for a fireside discussion with Trudi Sully, UK and Europe Lead for Industrialized Design & Construction at Mott MacDonald.

The upcoming CIOB MMC event will feature a fireside discussion on "MMC as a Decarbonization Tool & Lessons Learned from the UK". Trudi Sully, UK and Europe Lead for Industrialized Design & Construction at Mott MacDonald, and formerly with the Construction Innovation Hub, will share her insights in conversation with Martin Fenn, CIOB MMC Lead (Oceania), who will moderate.

Key discussion topics include:

  • Lean construction and waste elimination
  • Reducing carbon as a by-product of cost reduction
  • Prioritizing process over automation
  • 1,000-home pilot projects
  • Lessons from UK business model failures

This event will be highly interactive, encouraging questions and open discussion. Attendees can anticipate a dynamic exchange of ideas, gaining practical strategies and valuable lessons from the UK and beyond. The goal is to equip participants with the tools and knowledge needed to integrate MMC effectively into their practices, fostering a more sustainable and decarbonized built environment.

About the Speaker:

Trudi Sully is the Industrialised Design & Construction Lead for the UK & Europe at Mott MacDonald. She works with a rapidly growing team of specialists that champion the utilisation of industrialisation, DfMA, MMC, and platform approaches on major projects globally.

Trudi has had an eclectic career, having worked with many different industries, from which she draws experience and insights to now drive change in construction. This was key to her previous role as a director of the Construction Innovation Hub - a 4-year UK government funded programme that collaborated with partners across government departments and industry to develop tools and approaches that enable improved productivity, performance, and resilience.

With a reputation for straight-talking she will pull no punches as she openly discusses the challenges, successes and failures that reflect the global shift in how our built environment is delivered.
