We've created the perfect built environment event - enjoy an exclusive site visit to Friar Gate, connect with industry experts, and have delicious refreshments!

This event is open to all: CIOB members, student members, and anyone interested in learning more about the industry and what it has to offer.

Event Agenda:

4 PM: Meet at Derby University for group tours, two minutes away, at an interesting Grade II listed building reimagining (Friar Gate Goods Yard), Friar Gate | New Build Homes in Derby | Wavensmere Homes , where you'll learn about the project from M Lambe Construction | Groundworks & Civil Engineering, hear about the progress made and discover the area’s fascinating history.

4:30 -5:00 PM: Return to Derby University, a 2 minute walk from Friar Gate, and receive a complimentary welcome drink.

5:00 PM: A presentation from Nigel Cumberworth from M Lambe, outlining the professions involved in this project and how it will look upon completion.

5:20 PM: Listen to a representative from Hays talk about how to create a CV and prepare for interviews. Meet and engage with leading industry stakeholders with insights into career pathways from across the sector (check out the list below!)

6:00 PM: Complementary food and drink will be served, allowing you to continue to engage with industry reps.

7 PM: Event concludes.
