Julie Blight

Julie has been a Chartered member of the CIOB since 2012. With a degree in Valuation and Estate Management, she has worked for the NHS for nearly 30 years - across capital projects, finance and property management.  She has been chair of the CIOB Exeter hub twice and has sat as the Members’ Forum representative on the External Affairs Advisory Board.

As a client project manager for over 20 years she has managed the delivery of a wide variety of health schemes including operating theatres, intensive care units and laboratories.  She has worked on a number of joint ventures and coordinated multi headed client teams.

In her current role as Property & Contracts Manager for Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust she advises on real estate and contract law.  Her current project is to work with a multi-disciplinary team to ensure that there is effective use of buildings in line with clinical needs and requirements.  She has set up a local property manager network to assist in promoting the One Public Estate ethos by collaborative property use.   Her role involves fostering connections with the wider health community to inform the estates strategy around the long-term use of buildings.
