CIOB charter signatories highlight diversity and inclusion in action.

Our new paper on the benefits of Diversity and Inclusion (D&I) showcases the great D&I work of five organisations that are signatories to our D&I Charter: Kier, DoBuild, Burmor construction, BBVS and Graham.

Each case study focuses on a specific initiative that the organisations have been working on, giving different examples of D&I work in different contexts. 

We want this paper to serve as inspiration for organisations who are unsure how to adapt best practice to suit their work environment, as we believe that implementing D&I is achievable for all organisations. 

The organisations featured in this paper are of varying types and sizes and have all found ways to adapt D&I to suit them.  

The paper also explores the value a commitment to D&I brings to an organisation, by referencing research on this topic and sharing the different ways each of the organisations in the paper have benefited from implementing a particular D&I initiative. 

CIOB charter 

Our D&I Charter acts as a source of inspiration and a way for organisations to highlight their commitment to diversity and inclusion.

When organisations sign our Charter, they agree to uphold five key commitments: 

  • to show leadership
  • to create a plan
  • shape the culture
  • be transparent, and
  • be accountable.  

The commitments help lay the foundation for an effective and meaningful D&I strategy. When you join our Charter, you also get access to our Employer’s Forum providing an opportunity to learn, connect and network with other organisations.
