In this session Geraldine Fleming will give an overview of the 2024 changes in the JCT Design and Build form.

These changes are important to anyone currently using the JCT 2016 suite of contracts, including but not limited to Project and Site Managers, Quantity Surveyors, Building Surveyors, Engineers, Planners and Contract Administrators.

Speaker


Geraldine Fleming has worked in the construction industry for over 20 years, now specialising in dispute resolution and in house lectures across the supply chain.

She is dual qualified, being a chartered Quantity Surveyor, and also holding a law degree.

She has been employed on preparing, defending and negotiating claims on a wide range of projects both in the UK and overseas. She has experience of and has worked with a wide range of contracts and sub-contracts including standard and non-standard forms and regularly drafts and comments on such contracts. She is experienced in representing all sectors of the industry in dispute resolution. She also lectures regularly for many professional associations, and has presented for CECA, RICS, RIBA, CIOB, CAB, ECA, ICE and FIS

She has written a number of articles for publications such as the AIS’s magazine and Builder and Engineer and Confederation of Construction Specialists, and one of her articles was referred to in a government report on retention.

She was also featured in Building magazine’s “40 under 40” – although that was a few years ago

She is now the Operations Director for Diales in the North West.
