GREENOCK OCEAN TERMINAL Heron Bros Ltd delivered the new £19.2 million Greenock Ocean Terminal and Visitation Centre for Inverclyde Council. The state of the art facility concludes the development of a three-story, high-end multipurpose building, with approximately 20,800sq ft (1900m2) Gross Internal Floor Area. The building consists of two wings separated by an Entrance Hall. The North wing consists of a ferry passenger terminal located on the ground floor whilst visitors can access back-of-house accommodation on the Mezzanine floor. Visitors can gain access to the Ocean Terminal space and art gallery exhibition via the larger ground floor. Additional gallery space is available on the first-floor Mezzanine, along with a restaurant overlooking the River Clyde with a panoramic view on the external terrace. The facility will welcome passengers and visitors throughout the year and provide flexible space for exhibition events, conferences, and functions. It is predicted the new development will significantly increase the number of tourists, travelling from world renowned luxurious cruise ships.

THE PAPER EXCHANGE The Paper Exchange (TPE) is a £45m commercial building which strikes a bold new statement on the Belfast city-centre landscape, comprising 11 storeys and designed to accommodate 2000 personnel. TPE features 155,000 sq-ft of Grade-A flexible office accommodation over ground floor café/restaurant and car-parking. Heron Bros Ltd skilfully delivered this landmark project for Wirefox, in a bustling city-centre, surrounded by multiple culinary, cultural and commercial facilities. The building replaces the former 1970’s Oxford and Gloucester House Buildings. TPE stands proud on the Belfast skyline with two-storey high glazed screens, sitting behind a colonnade, which provides a perfectly apportioned entry to the building. The office accommodation is a staggered facade of ‘Scorched Earth’ aluminium rainscreen panels and glazed screens, with a set-back fully glazed two-storey penthouse to crown this elegant building. TPE name is a respectful nod to the printing-press history of the area and the ‘Scorched Earth’ aluminium façade reinforces a sense of place by complimenting the iconic red hues of the widely-used Belfast Brick throughout the city.

BELFAST LEISURE TRANSFORMATION PROGRAMME - TEMPLEMORE BATHS Templemore Baths is the 5th Leisure Facility delivered by Heron Bros Ltd (HBL) as part of the wider £105m Belfast Leisure Transformation Programme. The historically prestigious Templemore Baths (TMB) is Grade B+ listed by DoE Historic Environment Division, giving it regional importance reflecting its architectural, cultural, social and historic merits. It is the only surviving Victorian Public Baths in Ireland, and HBL delivered the significant conservation, refurbishment works, sympathetically complemented by a state-of-the-art extension on a restricted and densely populated brownfield site. This landmark scheme provides a unique visitor-attraction encompassing heritage spaces with interactive/multi-sensory displays to reimagine the history of the building and surrounds. The interaction is extended into the new-build, blending old with new, to beautifully amalgamate the intentionally modern leisure facility extension, which includes 25-metre competition pool with moveable floor, spectator gallery, gym and café. TMB, more than any project, epitomises our core values of innovation, forward thinking and passion, in our approach to project delivery, recognising that full engagement by the Project Team with the local community, was integral to the exemplar delivery and retained history of this iconic building.
