Summary

In 2022, Kier was appointed by Network Rail to deliver the £65m main works package at Oxford railway station.

In 2022, Kier was appointed by Network Rail to deliver the £65m main works package at Oxford railway station as part of the Oxford Corridor Phase 2 Project, now known as Oxfordshire Connect, to significantly improve both facilities and capacity.

The rail infrastructure in the Oxford Station area is close to full capacity and currently wouldn’t support the start of East West Rail services. Through Oxfordshire Connect, the station is being expanded and the wider area upgraded, bringing a range of benefits to passengers and residents alike.

The busy station is not only a key interchange serving the historic city and wider county, but also a vital part of the country’s freight network.

This project will:

· provide 50% increase in Through-platform capacity for additional services

· improve active travel links with 4-metre wide cycle/footways to be introduced

· significantly improve the capacity, accessibility, and safety of the station for millions of passengers every year.

Come and see first-hand the work Kier are completing at this station.
