Summary

Collaborative Conversations East Midlands 2024 will unite built environment experts to evaluate, exchange, and showcase best practice.

Collaborative Conversations East Midlands 2024 will bring together experts from across the built environment to explore the challenges and innovations in water management, from planning through to design and build in new commercial and housing developments.

Our Chair for the session is Julia Allen - Director and Principal Designer at Jabd and CIOB Nottingham Hub Chair.

We are also delighted to welcome our panel of speakers:

Abigail Milioto, Operational Delivery Manager, Waste Connection Team, Developer Services, Severn Trent Water.

Abigail will cover Severn Trent’s role in storm connections for new developments, what challenges Severn Trent face and what we are doing to manage storm water more effectively.

Daniel Buxton MEng CEng FICE, Design Director, Mott MacDonald Bentley.

Daniel will talk through opportunities to mitigate the carbon impact of housing development on water supply and wastewater treatment through the use of innovative and nature based engineering solutions.

Andrew Booth, Development Management Lead Officer, East Lindsey and Becky Phillips-Melhuish, Lincolnshire County Council, Growth Manager.

Andrew and Becky will provide an overview of a collaborative approach between the planning, highway and drainage authorities for securing SuDS requirements for new developments.

David Singleton CMLI, Director at DSA Environment + Design.

David will draw on his 30-year experience to present, using the ‘four pillars of SuDS’ some new ideas for how a SuDS approach may be better used in placemaking.

This unique event is brought to you by the leading professional bodies in the built environment; The Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB), Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE), Landscape Institute (LI), Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA), Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS), Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI).
