JCT 2024 is here! After 8-years of anticipation, contract managers are receiving their copies and wondering what the changes will mean.This CPD presentation will be provided by Eddie Quigg, Director at Quigg Golden. He will offer an insight into the changes to the JCT contracts.
After 8-years of anticipation, across the construction industry contract managers are receiving their copies and wondering what the changes will mean for their projects.
This talk will highlight the key changes in the new JCT, including:
· Notice provisions;
· Design obligations;
· Changes to time periods for Extensions of Time;
· Revisions to Liquidated and Ascertained Damages;
· New Relevant Events and Relevant Matters;
· Changes to the allocation of risk for grounds conditions, including asbestos;
· Alterations to the final payment process and termination; and
· Changes to dispute resolution.
JCT 2024 will likely be the standard for construction contracts for years to come. Attendees will be equipped to get ahead of the curve in understanding the new form

Edward is a Director and joint owner of Quigg Golden. He is a Solicitor*, a Chartered Procurement and Supply Professional, an ICC Arbitrator and Civil Engineer.
Edward gained his initial experience working for a civil and structural engineering consultancy and a major contractor. His extensive knowledge of both the design and construction processes is added to by his legal knowledge and wide experience in all methods of construction dispute resolution including mediation, adjudication, arbitration and litigation.
Edward has become known as a leading expert on the legal obligations of procuring work, including the EU requirements.
