Example of work 1
Client Project Management and Quantity Surveying Services on Rye Community Primary School and Children’s Centre in East Sussex. Project value £7m, for ESCC As the buildings are built on the limits of the flood plain they are elevated above ground level on a raised plinth, which together with poor ground bearing strata brought a number of construction challenges. The specification is very advanced and includes a ground source heat pump to work in conjunction with a gas fired central heated system to provide a very cost effective form of central heating, which together with a green sedum roof on the main school building and specialised glazing incorporates a number of renewable energy features. Quantity Surveying and Project Management Services on this £900k project with a 45 week construction programme at St Judes Church, Portsmouth. Located within the busy centre of Southsea, the project included a refurbishment and extension to form a flexible space as an entrance area, meeting space and lounge. The extension is constructed of matching stone and extensive glazing features with Green Roof. The project required the repositioning of the church organ, plus the formation of new kitchen facilities within the ground floor of the church. This was followed by further alterations within the ground floor in preparation for the creation of further flexible meeting areas, together with altering existing accommodation to suit the newly extended ground floor.
