Delivering Exceptional

Founded in 2009 by Steve Culbert, Kori Construction set out to deliver a client focused contracting experience with build quality at the forefront of the construction delivery process. Originally operating under the trading name of S.A.C. Construction, the company’s first projects comprised complex, fast track refurbishment and new build projects in the education sector. Fast forward 15 years and one re-brand and Kori Construction has diversified into delivering design and build projects nationally across all sectors.

Kori is now best known for the construction of care homes, later living residences, and multi-room developments to the value of £25m and is currently the leading national provider in this sector. Indeed, the company has successfully delivered over 1000 high-quality care beds, with a further 800 currently in construction. Alongside this, the team excel in delivering projects in the life sciences and commercial sectors, undertaking both new-build and refurbishment projects.

Driven by Ambition

At Kori Construction, we firmly believe our people are our greatest asset. Without their hard work, commitment, ideas, and passion, we wouldn’t be able to deliver the exceptional buildings we’re known for. This doesn’t stop with our internal teams, and we extend this value to our partners, suppliers, and other stakeholders to ensure every project we deliver is a collaborative effort that harnesses everyone’s input.

The team of experienced individuals at Kori are driven by an ambition to produce exceptional buildings for our clients and the communities we serve. As a forward-thinking design and build partner Kori fosters an ethos of ownership and accountability amongst our teams, ensuring they have the autonomy to deliver the client’s objectives from pre-construction through to occupation and whole life operation. Our commitment to client satisfaction is shown through our consistent repeat business and the relationships we form.

As an Equal Opportunities employer, we are committed to promoting equality, diversity, and inclusion, and to embedding it into everything we do. We operate inclusive workplaces where everyone feels valued and respected because of their differences; a place where every team member can be the whole and best version of themselves, so they can reach their own potential and help us to achieve our goals.

Thinking Differently

Kori believes that sustainability is not merely an option but an ethical responsibility. Guided by its commitment to the three pillars of sustainability – People, Planet, and Places – we strive to create a better future by integrating sustainable practices into every aspect of our operations. By prioritising the well-being of communities, minimising environmental impact, and creating sustainable and liveable spaces, Kori sets a positive example for the construction industry, leaving a lasting legacy for generations to come.

Alongside this, Kori engages with the communities in which we work, actively promoting social cohesion and fighting inequality and exclusion, engaging with young people to promote career opportunities in the construction industry and supporting local charitable causes through the Kori Community Fund. Kori Construction’s commitment to sustainability through these pillars is a testament to its dedication to building a better future.

Unit DY, Bristol This project comprised the redevelopment of an existing industrial unit for Science Creates, a technology-focused ecosystem that offers specialised incubator space. Located in a former stationary warehouse in Bristol’s Old Market, the new hub boasts 30,000 sq. ft. of R&D, office, and events space. Built in partnership with the University of Bristol and supported by Research England, the new incubator space was transformed over a 50-week programme and now features 16 Biosafety Level 2 labs with a specialist nitrogen gas system. A community outreach ‘learning lab’ and events space also feature in the £4.46m regeneration project. The finished facility provides vital mentoring support to startups in pioneering industries such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), clean growth, health, smart energy, and agri-food. In April 2021, the incubator space was shortlisted for a national ‘Planning Award’ in the ‘Promoting Economic Growth‘ category.
