Example of work 1
Hawk were appointed by this client to design, fabricate and install a new Barista Training Facility within the Business Design Centre in Islington. The client brief was to provide a facility to train at least eight Baristas and to capture elements of their corporate image with exposed brickwork, reclaimed timbers and hygenic solid composite worktops. Hawk completed 3D design images for the client to approve. These images were complimented by full detailed setting drawings to assist installation on site. The cabinets were all purpose made and provided with doors manufactured from reclaimed floorboard materials. This rustic impact was offset by modern aluminium bi-folding doors to seperate the training facility from the office and reception. All electrical and plumbing elements were incorporated into the design taking into account all thew specifications for the individual specialist machines.
Example of work 2
This project involved the conversion of existing grade II listed stables and coach house buildings to create additional classroom and ancillary space for the Independant Language School currently occupying this estate property. On this occasion, Hawk undertook the role of Principle Contractor and worked to details and design provided by an external Architect, appointed by the client. Elements of this building are protected under it's listing and therefore careful liason with the local conservation was required to protect, and in some instances, enhance these elements. Brand new entrance screens and windows were manufactured to fit the existing brickwork arches and a large numbers of man days were commited to overhauling and repairing the existing arch head stable doors. The building was fully refurbished externally to ensure it was wind and water tight and protected from future deterioration before an internal fit out created the classroom space, lobby, offices and WC facilities.
Example of work 3
The subject property in this example is a grade II listed cottage property within the grounds of a large estate. The property had been vacant for a period in excess of 2 years and the owner requested it's restoration to a habitable condition to safeguard the property and to create a rental income. Hawk were appointed as principle contractor and worked closely with the specifying building surveyors to fully restore the property internally and externally. The building had suffered some loss of roof tiles and other elements through theft and of course the building had therefore suffered exposure to the weather as a consequence. A long and careful process of restoration saw the building returned to a fully habitable state with modern heating system, new bathroom and kitchen installations and new floor coverings / restored floorboards as appropriate throughout the property.
