Example of work 1
Gunning London delivered Phase 1 of the external and internal refurbishment of this prestigious, purpose-built Edwardian mansion block, requiring sympathetic repairs in keeping with the age and style of the building. The works included : • fully independent access scaffolding • 'Repaircare' resin window repairs and traditional timber repairs • extensive masonry repairs including renewal of the Portland stone balustrades and a complete Doff cleaning of the stone facade • re-siting of the external parts of the air conditioning system to coordinate with the roof repairs • roof repairs using a proprietary 'Alamasc' system, incorporating insulation and a 40-year warranty • extensive new lead-work and cleaning of the existing lead-work • full redecoration including gold leaf detailing to the balustrades • internal refurbishment and redecoration of the staircase, bespoke manufactured carpets, wallpaper and paints by Farrow & Ball Key Points • A high volume of repairs were delivered within a tight, 20-week programme schedule; detailed surveying and scheduling was undertaken for all repairs. • A full-time Site Manager was allocated for the entire contract duration to co-ordinate on site and liaise with building users. • Short-term flexible programme planning and weekly contract project meetings ensured maximum accuracy. • Complex co-ordination of multiple trades was required for efficient delivery.
Example of work 2
The London College of Communication in Elephant & Castle is one of London's busiest university campuses. The communications sector is evolving quickly, having to be replicated within the teaching environment with industry focused courses in the Design, Media and Screen Schools being delivered to a world class standard. We transformed old classrooms and small rooms into large teaching spaces, adaptable and equipped to provide the college with the facilities they need to keep pace in today's ever challenging communications environment. The work included new electrical power and lighting layouts, internal space remodelling, new flooring and redecorations within all three schools. Key Points • On-site Contract Manager constantly processing information to and from the client; site managers and operatives dealt with the arising issues at source, quickly and professionally. • A very tight rein on the processing of waste materials meant we were able to achieve a 100% reclaimed, recycled or resold rates. • Due to the very tight programme we worked around the clock and at weekends to ensure completion on time. • Short term programming, highlighted client handover dates, enabled the client and student "move in" dates bringing significantly less disruption. • Revisions were programmed in, keeping the contract in focus, on time, budget and quality. • Three separate programmes of work run concurrently, enabling completion within original contract period of 10 weeks.
Example of work 3
Description of Works Gunning London delivered the replacement, repair and maintenance of the internal and external doors and associated ironmongery to the Leisure Centres at East Ham and Newham. Key Points • The work was carried out in a very short time period due to the potential re-occupation of the building users. • The contract required a full survey of the existing doorsets to ensure the correct specification and maintenance. • Regular photographic progress reports and a comprehensive record of all works undertaken were provided to the client on request.
